Description
Arlows 12V puller cooler fan
Air pulled through the core, not pushed onto it.
This item is the 12 V puller line. The fan sits behind the cooler, toward the engine or machine, and draws air through the matrix. At idle, in traffic and at low speed there is no ram air. That is where the puller holds temperature, without filling the front of the duct.
Pick the size on the variant, from 7 inch to 16 inch. Blade and housing are built for a small bay, water and weather resistant, individually balanced. Four mounting tabs clip onto the housing.
Why a puller?
BEHIND THE CORE
Puller only behind the cooler. In front of the cooler, in the direction of travel, use the pusher line. The wrong way, the fan fights itself.
12 VOLT
For 12 V systems, typical range 9 to 16 V. Do not put it on 24 V. Current through a relay and fuse, not the switch.
7 TO 16 INCH
7 inch for a tight duct and an oil cooler, 10 to 14 inch for a car front, 16 inch for a van and a large exchanger. The figure is the housing, the blade is smaller.
NOT ONLY CARS
Same fan on a generator canopy, hydraulic pack, CHP unit, cabinet with a heat exchanger and an agricultural cooler. The core face and the side behind it decide, not the vehicle.
Use cases
- Radiator, oil cooler, gearbox cooler, when there is no room in front of the core
- Idle, traffic, hill climbs, slow speed
- Standby generator, marine genset, hydraulic pack, electrical cabinet
- Not a cabin fan without a guard
Technical data
| Part number | AR8357, parent item |
| Voltage | 12 V, typical range 9 to 16 V |
| Direction | puller, mount behind the core |
| Sizes | 7 inch to 16 inch, size on the variant |
| Power | 120 W or 170 W, depending on the variant |
| Build | flow shaped blade, individually balanced |
| Protection | water and weather resistant |
| Mounting | 4 tabs that clip to the housing |
| Other side | choose the pusher line separately |
Airflow, current and height sit on the selected size. The 7 inch source lists 730 m3/h, blade 190 mm, height 51 mm, 6 to 7.5 A and 0.9 kg. That figure is that size only, not a 14 or 16 inch.
Fitment
Measure the bay behind the core, then pick the variant. Keep a gap to the core and to belts, hoses and steering, or the blade rubs. Clip the tabs, wire the fan only once it sits. Positive through a relay, clean ground. Set the thermostat or switch so the fan comes on as temperature rises and runs on after shutdown.
