Arlows Titanium heat protection tape
Not the cheap glass fibre tape from the hardware store. Up to approx. 1400 °C, approx. 2 mm thick, stays flexible.
High-quality Titanium heat protection tape for wrapping manifolds, bifurcated pipes, downpipes and exhaust systems. Length and width are selected in the variant. The new titanium technology withstands around 1400 °C and can still be easily unwound even after several thousand kilometres.
Why Titanium?
~1400 °C
Designed for manifolds, downpipes and turbo surroundings. Cheap glass fibre tape often only handles 500?700 °C and chars where it matters.
APPROX. 2 MM THICK
More mass between the exhaust and the engine bay than thin discount tapes. Less radiation onto cables, hoses and intake.
STAYS FLEXIBLE
Still unwindable after long use. Many cheap tapes bake solid and can only be torn off.
TURBO + COMPONENTS
Heat stays in the exhaust stream ? the turbo responds better. At the same time the load on neighbouring components decreases and the manifold cools more slowly (less risk of cracking).

Guideline: A complete 4-cylinder header manifold typically needs approx. 15 metres. Choose the appropriate roll length accordingly.

Fitment
Wrap the tape tightly and with overlap. Secure with V2A stainless steel cable ties ? plastic ties melt on the manifold. Maintain the overlap, secure the ends with ties, and fold over protruding tie ends.
Note: Every heat protection tape smokes briefly on first heat-up. This settles after a few minutes. Only run in a well-ventilated area / outdoors. Not intended for the StVZO area if the vehicle is modified thereby.
