These are very high quality steel connecting rods. They are forged/milled from 4340 steel (40CrNiMoA). The H-profile provides maximum stability at low weight. This is particularly well suited for high revving engines.
After numerous hardening processes our connecting rods reach a hardness of HRC35-38.
Finally, the connecting rods were shot peened to further increase the surface density.
Our connecting rods are 3D designed and then CNC milled to simulate load conditions / stresses and to design the connecting rods to have the maximum stiffness with the lowest weight.
During production, all dimensional tolerances are maintained very precisely and checked several times.
The piston pin bearing is made of bronze and has a hole for lubrication of the piston pin.
To avoid confusion during disassembly, all connecting rods + bearing blocks are marked in relation to each other.

Piston pin bore: +-4/1000mm
KuWe pin bore: +-4/1000mm
Verticality, parallelism and distortion:? +-5/1000mm
Weight between them: +-1 gram
